Authenticity

This week we have been talking about the nature of the soul. Your soul is the divine, eternal essence of you. An uncluttered, healed, and whole soul represents your true, authentic self. Learning to living authentically is the purpose of this 40-day journey.

So what is authenticity?

Authenticity simply means being true to who you are—aligning your every thought and action with who and what you were created to be and do.

Judy Garland stated, “Always be a first-rate version of yourself instead of a second-rate version of someone else.” Steve Jobs gave the following advice: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” While Charles Evans Hughes concluded, “When we lose the right to be different, we lose the privilege to be free.”

Nothing or nobody should define you—it is up to you to understand who you are and live according to that truth.

Take the lead in letting others step to the music they hear by dancing to your own.
